Her extensive 25+ years of experience in politics, non-profits, and executive leadership positions her as a dynamic force in governance and community development.
Dr. Wright’s leadership has led to several high-profile appointments, including her appointment as Special Assistant to the Maryland State Treasurer, Dereck Davis. Her commitment to public service drove her to run for Prince George’s County Council in 2021, seeking to amplify progress and drive equitable development
across the county.
Mrs. Wright has served as Chief Strategy Officer for a Communications Firm, where she leverages her expertise to drive visionary growth, streamline operations, and implement innovative business strategies. She is widely recognized as a bridge-builder, advocate, and fearless leader, dedicated to strengthening communities through economic empowerment, policy influence, and leadership development. Marci is a visionary leader dedicated to elevating organizations and people. As CEO of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, she leads a team of leaders, driving strategic growth, innovation, and operational excellence to serve a community of over 7,300 professionals across architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) firms.
With a strong background in organizational strategy, professional development, and experience-driven marketing, Marci stewards a multi-million-dollar organization, aligning resources, talent, and technology to enhance membership value, expand industry influence, and ensure financial sustainability. Marci studied Social Work at Bowie State University and is certified in instructional design, digital event strategy (DES), and diversity and inclusion (d+i). Previously, Marci served as Publisher of SMPS’s award-winning Marketer journal and has been a contributing writer for industry publications. A two-time book author, she continues to shape thought leadership and drive transformation in the A/E/C space.
